The Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) has decided to postpone the Congress from October 14 to October 19.
The Congress is expected to officially nominate the Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the party’s official Presidential candidate. "This decision will not affect the planned agenda of the Congress, which includes the discussion of issues related to the participation of UzLiDeP in the upcoming Presidential elections in Uzbekistan", - a statement in the party’s official website said.
It is noted that the new date for the meeting of the UzLiDeP’s supreme body completely fits in the dates for candidate nomination specified in the Law "On elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
