President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the FM World plant in the city of Karshi. The company is part of Jiangsu World Group, which is ranked among China’s 500 largest private companies.
The $20 million project was financed entirely with foreign investment. The plant sits on a 5-hectare site, with 12,000 square meters of production buildings. It employs 200 people, and some production processes are automated.
The plant currently assembles five tractor models, cotton harvesters and other agricultural machinery under the “Nasaf” brand. The tractors are equipped with GPS navigation and autopilot, and fertilizer application and monitoring are handled remotely. This allows field work to be done with high precision while cutting fuel and other resource use.
The plant also holds regular training on maintaining machinery in the field, detecting faults early and operating equipment safely.
Localization in tractor assembly stands at 30%, and the plant itself makes 138 types of parts and components. The importance of raising localization step by step was stressed, by expanding in-house component production and strengthening cooperation with local companies.
The plant plans to supply 30% of its output to neighboring countries and raise annual exports to $50 million.
The president viewed the production process and finished machines.
“Until now, we imported agricultural machinery from abroad, and that affected costs. Producing modern machinery under our own brand in Kashkadarya, equipment that eases our farmers’ work, was once only a dream. Localization is a logical continuation of our reforms in agriculture. We will keep working on this consistently,” the head of state said.
