On November 22, the Uzbek Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications hosted a meeting with the head of the Observer Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Johann Peter Traugott Tijler.
During the meeting, the experts of the mission were briefed on the state and prospects of implementing the e-government and development of ICT, their role in formation of the civil society in Uzbekistan.
The Ministry’s officials emphasized that in Uzbekistan the efforts are made to further implement ICTs in the state and public life of the country. In particular it was mentioned that promoting the e-government system, as an important factor in raising the people's welfare and boosting the economic growth, is one of the main priorities of the government’s policy in Uzbekistan.
The parties also exchanged views on latest ICT trends in the world.
