The President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on November 17 arrived in Uzbekistan on official visit, a UzA statement said.

At Samarkand airport the Turkish President was welcomed by the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Adham Ikramov.

The main events of the visit are scheduled for November 18 when Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the resting place of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to pay tribute to his memory and meet with the Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The two leaders will discuss the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey and will exchange views on important regional and international developments.

According to the website of the Presidency of Turkey, the Turkish President is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Ministers Veysi Kaynak and Tuğrul Türkeş, the Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak.
