Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev today arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit, UzA reported. President of Kyrgyzstan and his wife were at Islam Karimov Airport welcomed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife.

Ferghana police detained a group of people suspected of demeaning to honor and dignity of a Fergana resident and spreading an anti-social video on the Internet, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The Uzbek-Russian military exercises started at Forish training ground in Jizzakh province. During the drills 400 servicemen will work out searching, blocking and destroying hypothetical terrorist groups, and exchange experience in conducting special operations in the mountainous areas.

The visiting UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief Ahmed Shaheed today met with the Uzbek Interior Minister Pulat Bobodjonov and discussed issues of ensuring constitutional rights of freedom of religion of prisoners and persons in custody, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

In the first week of October, the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and Russia will conduct joint tactical exercises at the Jizzakh's Forish training ground, UzA reported.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decree Saturday creating a Ministry of Preschool Education. The ministry will include the Ministry of pre-school education of Karakalpakstan, the Tashkent city, provincial, town and district offices.
