On April 22, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Anthony Blinken, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The counterparts reportedly discussed the state and the ways to further deepen the multifaceted Uzbek-American strategic partnership ties.
Anthony Blinken highly valued the current democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, noting, in particular, the achieved results in the field of combating human trafficking and ensuring freedom of religion.
The parties stressed the importance of continuing active interaction within the framework of the C5 + 1 format, focusing on the issues of involving Afghanistan in regional integration processes to restore the country's socio-economic life in the post-conflict period.
The Uzbek Foreign Minister invited the US Secretary of State to the international high-level conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities”, which will be held in July this year in Tashkent.
