Deputy Foreign Minister Olimjon Abdullaev met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Won Do Yeon Friday, Dunyo news agency said.
Reportedly, the parties discussed the bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration and simplification of visa regime for Uzbek citizens.
They also focused on the training of skilled personnel for the South Korean labor market, the development of joint educational programs and the introduction of new initiatives for pre-departure preparation and touched upon еhe simplifying of visa procedures, including for seasonal workers.
The parties agreed to continue the dialogue in this area to facilitate working in the Republic of Korea for citizens of Uzbekistan.
On March 17, the Deputy Foreign Minister also met with a delegation of the Republic of Korea led by the Mayor of Ulsan Kim Doo Gyeom.
The South Korean side also expressed its readiness to consider the possibility of organized employment of Uzbek citizens together with their families, subject to compliance with the visa regime to rule out illegality and overstays.
