Two more automatic air pollution monitoring stations have been put into operation in Tashkent’s Yashnabad and Almazar districts, the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection said.
The stations were installed in partnership with Uzgidromet, the Ministry and the Zamin International Public Foundation as part of the Automation of Air Pollution Monitoring project.
Reportedly, the stations are in fact laboratories with high-precision air pollution measurement technology. The locations for their installation were selected based on population density, main roads, highways and protected natural areas.
With the increase in the number of stations, Uzgidromet employees regularly undergo training in analyzing data received from the stations, as well as the features of operating equipment and software.
Earlier in January, three automatic air pollution monitoring stations were installed in Tashkent, bringing the total number of stations in Uzbekistan to 21.
