Bishkek hosted the ninth summit of the Organization of Turkic States in on November 5-6. Currently, the organization aims to digitalize transport processes through economic integration, establishment of new transport corridors, such as China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan, implementation of Digital TIR, e-Permit projects and implementation of e-CMR system, and others.
Also, the agenda included the ways to boost the Turkish Investment Fund, promote the free trade agreement in the field of services and investments, the digital economy cooperation agreement, and the establishment of the Council of Central Banks of the member countries.
Reportedly, today Uzbekistan is actively developing cooperation with OTS member countries, and the trend of this process creates a strong additional impetus for expanding relations.
"Let's give some numbers. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the figures of Uzbekistan-Turkey cooperation. In 2023, the volume of trade was US$ 3.1 billion dollars, and in January-August of this year, it reached US$ 2 billion. Last year, it topped US$ 1.2 billion.
1,854 Turkish-invested textile, trade, transport and logistics, construction, furniture industry, service enterprises and other areas are operating in Uzbekistan.
