Public medical insurance is planned to be launched in Tashkent city from July 1. This was announced at a meeting in the Ministry of Health on January 4 by the new Minister Amrillo Inoyatov, the Ministry of Health said.
Transition to public health insurance will be accelerated and this system will be launched in Tashkent city this year, and then gradually introduced in other provinces, announced Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a December message to parliament.
“There is every opportunity for the introduction of the public medical insurance in Tashkent. We also undertake to launch health insurance in the Navoi province,” the minister said.
30 billion soums will be contributed for the full digitalization of 72 polyclinics and 40 hospitals of the capital, including the purchase of computers and the necessary medical equipment, he noted.
Reportedly, thanks to digitalization, medical facilities will have accurate information about when, where and what kind of treatment each patient received.
In November 2020, the head of state signed a resolution on the implementation of a pilot project from 2021 to introduce a new model of healthcare organization and state medical insurance mechanisms in the Syrdarya province. In December of the same year, the State Health Insurance Fund began was inaugurated.
