It is planned to increase cotton harvesting by machines to 50% from the total in 2020 in Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Kashkadarya provinces, and by 80% later on, said Nodir Otajonov, adviser to the Prime Minister/Chairman of Uzagrotechsanoatholding.

The joint venture Nurlikum Mining, set up by the French company Orano Mining and the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources (GeolCom) of Uzbekistan, will have the annual capacity to produce 1,500 tons of concentrated uranium oxide (U3O8), GeolCom said on Wednesday.

Total trade value of Uzbekistan in January-October 2019 topped US$ 34.7 billion, a US$ 8.8 billion increase, or by 34.4 % compared to the last year, the State Statistics Committee said in a report.

The UAE company Masdar will invest up to US$ 100 million for the first photovoltaic plant project with 100 MW capacity in the Navoi province of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) said.

There are currently 275 oil and gas fields in Uzbekistan with total reserves of 2.4 billion cubic meters (BCM) tons of conditional fuel, Uzbekneftegaz reported.
