Uzbekistan Airways flight HY603 from Tashkent to Moscow has turned back, the company's press service reported. The carrier has also adjusted several other routes, citing temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals at certain airports in Russia.
Flight HY603, en route from Tashkent to Moscow's Domodedovo Airport, returned and landed back in Tashkent, while the corresponding return flight from Moscow to Tashkent has been delayed. Flight HY9609, traveling from Termez to Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, was diverted to a backup airfield in St. Petersburg. Flights HY9622 and HY9621, operating between Vnukovo and Andijan, may also face delays, the airline said.
Uzbekistan Airways said all decisions were being made in response to the current situation and with flight safety as the top priority.
"We ask passengers to follow updates through the airline's official information channels. Further details on upcoming flight schedules will be announced separately," the statement said.
The disruption follows a recent warning from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who cautioned airlines that Russian airspace was becoming increasingly unsafe for international flights.
