Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, of the Armed Forces arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

Uzbekistan and Luxembourg on Monday signed the Protocol amending the Convention for Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal  Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and Capital of July 2, 1997, the Uzbek Tax Committee said in a statement.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in New York City to attend the 72nd of the UN General Assembly high level events. The President was at the John F. Kennedy airport received by the chair of the Uzbek-US Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm.

As reported earlier the 1st OIC Summit on Science and Technology was held in Astana. In his remarks at the summit, the Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said: “I propose to hold the OIC Summit on Science and Technologies every three years, and if You support this proposal, we are ready to hold the next summit in 2020 in Uzbekistan".

Starting from September 5, payment for hotel rooms and other accommodation facilities shall be made in local currency only, save for cases when payment is made by an international bank card, the Tourism Development Committee said.
