On October 25, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed amendments to the Tax Code. The amenments was passed by the Legislative Chamber on October 19 and was approved by the Senate on October 21.
From October 10 to December 31, 2021, the amendments waive from VAT meat (beef, lamb, chicken), live animals (livestock and poultry) and their slaughter products, potatoes and frozen fish, as well as their import to the territory of Uzbekistan.
The amendments took effect on October 26, but it also applies to relations arising from October 10.
During the discussion of the amendment last week in the Senate, it was noted that the adopted measure is aimed at stabilizing prices for basic types of food in the domestic market.
