The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today chaired a government meeting on digitalization of the agricultural sector, the presidential press service said. Reportedly, farmers are still forced to turn to dozens of different digital platforms for land, lending, subsidies and agricultural services.

To simplify access to government services in the agricultural sector, a single Digital Agriculture integrated platform will be launched. Through it, farmers will be able to independently select crops for sowing, enter data on their fields and gain access to the necessary services.

As expected, this will allow real-time monitoring of the volumes of primary, repeated and so-called "ninety-day" sowing.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that such data was critically important for ensuring food security, price stability and the sustainability of farmers' incomes.

To coordinate efforts in this area, a commission on ensuring food security has been set up under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov. As part of its work, it is envisaged to provide soft loans and subsidies to expand the manufacturing of popular types of products.

Another area of digital transformation will be the widespread implementation of unmanned aerial vehicles in the agricultural sector. This fall, more than 100 modern drones will be delivered to the country. The President instructed to expand the participation of the private sector in providing farms with services for processing fields using drones.

The head of state also touched upon environmental issues and gave directives to develop legal mechanisms to ban the burning of straw.

Furthermore, he noted that space data contained valuable information not only on agriculture, but also on other areas - construction, cadastral survey, forestry, pastures and subsoil use. Ministries and mayor offices have been instructed to study this data and prepare appropriate action plans.
