On October 14, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the extraordinary online meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the presidential press service said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is attending the EAEU summit for the third time since Uzbekistan received the observer status in the EAEU in December 2020.

According to the President, Uzbekistan's trade with the EAEU countries increased by 30%. “Uzbekistan is not limited to formal cooperation in the status of an observer,” he said, underscoring the active interaction with the Eurasian Economic Commission and the launch of a joint working group.

Promising projects of cooperation with the Eurasian Development Bank are being prepared in the field of renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, electrical and chemical industries, Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted.

Stressing the importance of stepping up efforts to build up trade and economic ties, he proposed to develop a joint "road map" to eliminate existing barriers, harmonize technical regulations and standards, digitalize customs procedures in mutual trade.

Uzbekistan is interested in expanding cooperation in the creation of interprovince value chains by deepening industrial cooperation. New opportunities for this will be opened by the annual holding of the Innoprom - Central Asia industrial forum in Tashkent, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

He pointed out the importance of improving the network of transport corridors and logistics infrastructure as a key factor in the sustainable development of national economies.

He invited to join the Agroexpress project launched by Uzbekistan jointly with Russia and Kazakhstan, which is designed to ensure swift mutual deliveries of goods.

The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of consolidating efforts and finding new points of interaction in ensuring food security by developing a joint program of cooperation.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also noted Uzbekistan's interest in participating in digitalization processes, sharing practical experience and mutual transfer of advanced technologies within the EAEU. He thanked the leadership of Russia for assistance in the digitalization of tax administration systems and cadastre in Uzbekistan.

The head of state also paid attention to the environmental agenda and stressed the need for coordinated measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The President called on the partner countries to take an active part in joint projects to create a zone of environmental innovations and technologies in the Aral Sea region, and also invited them to the International Green Energy Forum, which will be held in September 2022 in Nukus.

In addition, he proposed to establish cooperation with a high-level working group on the climate agenda, created within the EAEU.

The next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held on December 10 in Almaty.
