Uzbekistan firmly condemns the terrorist act committed on October 8 during Friday prayers in the Afghan city of Kunduz, which resulted in numerous casualties, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"This kind of violent action hinders the establishment of sustainable and long-term peace and national accord in Afghanistan," the Foreign Ministry added.
The statement also expresses condolences to the families of those killed and injured "in this inhuman attack."
The explosion in Kunduz, according to TOLO News, killed 43 people and injured more than 140. The Vilayat Khorasan terrorist group (part of the Islamic State terrorist group) claimed responsibility for the explosion. The group said that the explosion in the crowd was carried out by a suicide bomber in a belt with explosives.
