The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has accepted the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on October 4-5, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, the agenda of the upcoming summit includes the ways to expand and strengthen the Uzbek-Turkmen ties of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
The parties are expected to focus on further building up economic cooperation, primarily in the areas of trade, transport and transit, energy, promoting cooperation projects in industry, agriculture and water management, enhancing contacts between the regions of the two countries, implementing joint programs of cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The two leaders will also exchange views on topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
In addition, as part of the visit, it is planned to hold a number of bilateral events, including an economic forum.
Following the negotiations, the two presidents are envisaged to adopt a Joint Statement of the Heads of State, sign a solid package of documents and contracts aimed at intensifying the multifaceted partnership.
