Uzbekistan and Russia share interests in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia, said First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Farkhod Arziev at the opening of the conference “Uzbekistan and Russia in the face the challenges of development and security at a new historical stage of cooperation”, organized in the capital by Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies and the Valdai club.
"Tashkent and Moscow are united by common interests in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia and in the CIS in general, helping to solve global problems, overcomng the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as achieving sustainable development goals," Arziev said.
A unique multi-level system of cooperation has been formed between Uzbekistan and Russia: close cooperation at the highest level, a joint commission at the level of Prime ministers, an intergovernmental commission headed by the Deputy prime ministers, and subcommissions, whose meetings are chaired by the heads of the sectoral ministries and departments of the two countries.
According to the Deputy Minister, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia will strengthen and develop, opening new horizons in the next decades of partnership.
Shared interest in providing all the necessary conditions for the prosperity of the friendly peoples of our countries is the solid foundation of bilateral Uzbek-Russian ties, their achievement of new successes in social, economic, scientific and cultural development, Arziev said.
