The German Embassy in Tashkent announced the closure of its visa section until further notice. The diplomatic mission linked this with "the current extraordinary situation," the Embassy said in a statement.
Embassy interview appointments, especially for visa applications, are being canceled with immediate effect.
“The new announcement will follow in due course with the possibility of scheduling a new appointment. Please refrain from further inquiries. The embassy cannot answer inquiries on this matter at this time,” the statement added.
Germany is currently continuing to evacuate its citizens and Afghan refugees from Kabul via Uzbekistan. Since August 19, Uzbekistan has provided the local flights terminal to ensure evacuation of citizens to Germany and to other countries of the European Union.
