Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting member of the State Council/ Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly reviewed the ways to further strengthen the Uzbek-Chinese friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership ties.
The Minister Wang Yi conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the of China Xi Jinping and highly commended and supported Uzbekistan’s initiative to develop the interconnectivity in Central and South Asia. He expressed confidence in the successful holding of the upcoming conference in Tashkent.
The parties also focused on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, including the promotion of joint programs and projects in trade, economic, investment, financial and technical, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of multifaceted cooperation.
An exchange of views took place on the international agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
