The Foreign Ministry announced readiness to hold the next high-level European Union-Central Asia dialogue in Tashkent on political and security issues in 2020, the ministry said. This year, a meeting of this format was held in May in Brussels.
The proposal was voiced by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov during talks with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Brussels yesterday.
During the talks, the parties pointed to the need to swiftly approve the text of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation (AEPC), which will replace the current 1999 Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
The Minister Kamilov commended the EU’s support for the Multi-Partnership Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Sea region and other environmental projects in Uzbekistan, the statement added.
