Iran has requested a visa-free regime for its nationals during bilateral talks with Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Tourism Committee reported.
The committee chief, Abdulaziz Akkulov met with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Ali Eskandari to discuss strategies for boosting mutual tourist numbers and maximizing the tourism potential of both nations.
Special attention was given to promoting tourism destinations in both Uzbekistan and Iran, increasing travel volume, expanding direct flights, and developing medical tourism.
Following the meeting, both parties agreed to step up efforts to market Uzbekistan’s tourism potential within Iran and to steadily increase tourist exchanges, building on the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
