On September 24, the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with UAE Foreign Minister and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New York, the Foreign Ministry said.
The Minister Kamilov and the UAE Foreign Minister reportedly discussed the ways to expand the bilateral relations, as well as within the UN, OIC and other structures. The parties considered proposals for holding the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries, which will allow discussing the current state and prospects of cooperation and exchanging views on international issues.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in building up cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and the presence of significant potential for this and also examined proposals regarding the timing and agenda of upcoming bilateral events at various levels.
The foreign minister of Uzbekistan and India exchanged views on priority aspects of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and commended the upward trend in bilateral relations, which is the result of a regular dialogue between the leaders of Uzbekistan and India.
Particular focus was paid to the bilateral economic ties on expanding the two-way trade, the implementation of joint investment projects, with the schedule and agenda for the upcoming Uzbek-Indian events at various levels considered
The meeting also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as cooperation in the field of ensuring international and regional security.
