Tajik President Emomali Rahmon hosted the Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov in Dushanbe Tuesday, the press service of the Tajik President reported.
During the talks, the parties discussed the ways to advance the Uzbek-Tajik comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations.
Thee reportedly commended the growing bilateral trade and investment figures. Emomali Rahmon indicated that there was huge untapped potential to further promote this process in industry, energy, transport, agriculture and other sectors. The parties also expressed their interest in further expanding cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The Tajik leader highly valued the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the last meeting of which took place today in Dushanbe.
The parties noted the importance of continuing constructive and reliable interstate dialogue on all areas of the bilateral agenda and exchanged opinions on organization and schedule of bilateral events this year.
