Two female students of School No. 59 in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent, have been confirmed to have tuberculosis, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.
On December 26, an 11th-grade student went to the TB dispensary for a check-up as she had been frequently ill in recent months. According to her sister, an ENT doctor at a private clinic sent her to the dispensary for additional examination.
X-ray confirmed tuberculosis, and the girl was immediately hospitalized at the Tashkent City Children's Tuberculosis Hospital.
The next day, six members of her family, including two children under 6, were examined at the dispensary. They did not have active tuberculosis.
Additionally, in the dispensary under the supervision of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, students and teachers of school No. 59, as well as students and staff of the private school where the girl attended additional classes, underwent X-ray and Diaskintest.
Tuberculosis was detected in one of the students, 16, - a close friend of the sick student. She was also hospitalized.
Three more students and one teacher were found to be predisposed to the disease, in connection with which preventive treatment was started.
An administrative violation sheet was drawn up against the school principal "for the identified deficiencies".
