Uzbek special regiment won a silver medal among special-purpose regiments at the annual Exercise Cambrian Patrol, and international military patrolling event in Brecon, the UK.

The exercise was won by a UK team, the team of Pakistan closed the top three.

A total of 100 teams from 30 countries participated in the 5-day long competition which started on 4th October this year.

Exercise Cambrian Patrol is an annual event organised and run by 160th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Wales, based in Brecon.

This year, teams from the UK, USA, France, India, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan took part in the competition.

Each team crossed over 70 km, overcoming natural and tactical obstacles. Every 8-10 km, the teams performed combat missions, such as actions in conditions of chemical and biological threats, assault operations and orientation in difficult terrain.

The team of the Ministry of Defense won its subgroup, which included 13 teams. During all stages, they successfully overcame contaminated areas, demonstrated mastery in tactical operations and completed the route among the leaders.

Among the test are; firing of personal weapons, obstacle crossing, first-aid and casualty evacuation, recognition of aircraft vehicles and equipment, artillery target indication, patrol techniques, helicopter drills, communications skills, handling prisoners of war, tactical river/stream crossing, ambush/anti-ambush drills, recce techniques, tunnel crossing, navigation skills and rock climbing.

According to the British Army the exercise is unique, world class and the largest of its kind with some foreign entrants having to claim the right to take part in the UK by winning through their own domestic competition.
