Committee for Religious Affairs posted an updated list of sources recognized by the Supreme Court as containing ideas of extremism and terrorism. It is therefore prohibited to import, produce, distribute and display them in Uzbekistan.
The previous version of the list was posted in May last year and contained about 500 resources.
The committee urged not to distribute materials from sites and channels included in the list, and also not to press the “Like” buttons.
The list contains about 150 banned pages on Facebook, almost 400 on Telegram, more than 100 on Instagram, dozens of channels on YouTube, OK.ru, TikTok, as well as materials on websites and social networks in audio, video and text format.
Resources with prohibited content are identified by the Committee on Religious Affairs together with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency of Information and Mass Communications.
According to the law on countering extremism, the demonstration, distribution and storage of these materials is prohibited, and access to them must be limited.
The production, storage, distribution or display of materials containing a threat to public safety and public order, according to the Criminal Code, shall become grounds for criminal prosecution.
