President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Thursday on the sidelines of events in Avaza, the two leaders discussing ways to expand relations between their countries.
They noted with satisfaction that active contacts have been established at various levels, according to the account of the talks.
The sides stressed the importance of advancing cooperation projects in agriculture, jewelry, light industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and tourism. They said the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission and joint business events must be held effectively.
They also discussed issues of international importance and cooperation within multilateral organizations.
The two countries recently held political consultations. Bilateral trade is growing, and 80 enterprises with Armenian investment operate in Uzbekistan. Direct flights have been launched between the capitals.
