A criminal case has been opened in Bukhara province against a man and his relative over the alleged kidnapping and beating of a 17-year-old boy, the Сhildren's Щmbudsman said.
On Aug. 28, the man took the teenager by car to a relative's home against his will, the ombudsman said. The boy had come to meet the man's daughter. At the house, the man and other persons beat him.
A forensic medical examination found injuries on various parts of the boy's body, the ombudsman said.
On Sept. 7, the case was opened under Article 137, Part 2, Clauses "a" and "с" of the Criminal Code, which covers kidnapping of a minor by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and Article 105, Part 2, which covers intentionally causing moderate bodily harm. The district prosecutor's office is carrying out the initial investigative steps.
