A tragic road accident occurred in Zomin district. The crash took place around 10:05 a.m. on August 11 on the Jizzakh–Ravot–Zomin–Savot highway, in the Alisher Navoi neighborhood of Zomin district. A driver, 28, identified as F.E., was operating a Chevrolet Onix when it collided head-on with an oncoming Volkswagen, driven by a Tashkent resident, 28, identified as A.R.
Both drivers sustained severe injuries in the collision and died as a result.
According to preliminary information, the Onix driver fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the oncoming lane.
