Uzbek government delegation visited South Korea in order to further expand hiring Uzbeks for South Korea jobs, Dunyo reported.

As part of the visit, Seoul hosted an Uzbekistan-Korea Jobs Forum featuring major Korean employers, associations and representatives of the Korean Human Resources Development Service (HRD Korea). It was attended by delegates of over 100 companies in South Korea.

Within the framework of the event, negotiations were held with representatives of Hyundai Heavy Machinery, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, Association of Small and Medium Businesses on attracting qualified specialists from Uzbekistan.

A meeting was held with fellow countrymen studying and working in Korea Republic, and their questions were answered.

Around 600 thousand young Uzbeks enter the job market every single year. As per various estimates from 3 to 4 million Uzbeks work in Russia, with annual remittances from Russia standing at over US$ 6 billion, and over 10 million Uzbeks relying on the those remittances back in Uzbekistan.

Huge labour migrant figures is a major leverage in hands of Russia in the Uzbek-Russian ties. Given this Uzbekistan authorities are in constant search of new countries ready to hire Uzbeks.
