From November 21 to 24, Tashkent will host the French Premiere Festival featuring films that were earlier unavailable to the general audience in Uzbekistan, including new releases, animated films and classics.
The event is organized by the French Institute with the support of the Tashkent Film School, moc, the French Embassy in Uzbekistan and the Center for the Development of National Cinematography of Uzbekistan. Screenings will take place at the National Cinema Palace and the Kinokhona Cinema Hall.
Entrance is free of charge, except for the last film (tickets for it can be purchased on the Showgo website).
Festival's Program
November 21, 19:30
- Opening of the festival: Niki (directed by Celine Sallette) about a young artist who emigrated to France from the United States during the McCarthy era.
Venue: National Cinema Palace (Alisher Navoi str., 15).
November 22, 19:30
- Special screening of Samurai in 4K quality in memory of the actor Alain Delon.

November 23
- 16:00 —animated film: New Year's Stories of Animals.
- 18:00 —Black Tea (directed by Abderrahmane Sissako) about love that arose after an unsuccessful wedding.

November 24, 18:00
- Festival closing: drama The Story of Suleiman (directed by Boris Lozhkin) about a migrant from Guyana seeking asylum in France. Kinokhona (Socrates str., 10).
