The European Union continues to grant duty-free access for more than 6,000 categories of Uzbek goods, Umidjon Azamkhojaev, director general of Uzbekexpertiza said.
According to Azamkhojaev, more than 1,600 companies in Uzbekistan have registered with the EU's REX system and are now exporting their products to European markets under preferential tariff terms through the bloc's "GSP+" trade scheme.
"The European Union's decision to grant Uzbekistan GSP+ status — a special trade regime — reflects the country's growing recognition on the international stage. We issue certificates of origin for goods manufactured in Uzbekistan. Under this special trade regime, more than 6,000 categories of Uzbek goods now qualify for duty-free access," Azamkhojaev said.
In 2025, Uzbekistan exported $2.3 billion worth of goods and services to Europe. In the first half of this year alone, that figure has already surpassed $1.1 billion. Uzbekistan's eligibility for GSP+ status currently runs through December 31, 2027.

Uzbekexpertiza JSC certifies and inspects goods manufactured in Uzbekistan and registers exporters in the European Union's REX system.
The GSP+ program grants preferential access to EU markets for agricultural and other goods exported from developing countries. Member states can export roughly 3,000 product categories to the EU duty-free, along with another 3,200 categories at reduced tariff rates. Uzbekistan was admitted to the GSP+ program in April 2021. Since then, the country has received customs preferences on exports covering 6,200 product categories, with textiles, chemicals, agricultural goods and food products making up a significant share of that trade.
