Uzbekistan and China have announced a Silk Road Energy Planning and Engineering Joint Venture to further expand cooperation in the energy sector.
Uzbekistan will follow China's path, which has achieved great achievements on a global scale in the field of renewables and digital technologies. China Energy Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI), one of the largest engineering centers in China, has extensive experience in developing the energy system and implementing energy power planning.
The Silk Road Energy Planning and Engineering will help the Uzbek government develop strategic plans in line with world standards in order to further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the energy sector. The joint venture aims to identify the potential of renewable energy sources (RES) and traditional energy sources, as well as actively participate in the processes of digitalization of power grids.
This initiative will serve to raise the capacities of local specialists to international standards and expand the participation of local labor in investment projects. This, in turn, will help strengthen Uzbekistan's economic independence and reduce the cost of investment projects.
