On Friday the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas Shannon as part of his Uzbekistan visit went to Samarkand, where he laid a wreath at the tomb of the First President Islam Karimov. 

Interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 29 received the United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas Shannon, UzA said. 

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in a telephone conversation on October 26 invited the Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan National News Agency said.

On October 26 at 11:30 a private building on Farabi street of Tashkent’s Shayhantahur district collapsed, killing three people and injuring two, the Uzbek Emergency Situations Ministry said.
