The Center for the Development of Clinical Trials of Medicines in the form of a state-owned enterprise was set up by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 14. The center is being founded by the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health.

The center will be located at the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, and funds from the Fund for Support and Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and loans from the Eximbank of Korea fund allocated for the creation of Tashkent Pharma Park will be used to equip it with medical equipment, clinical and laboratory equipment.

The main tasks of the center are:

  • organization of clinical trials of medicines based on international ethical and scientific standards
  • coordination of the development of clinical trials in Uzbekistan and the modernization of clinical facilities based on world standards;
  • organization of clinical trials of medicines in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and international cooperation on GCP
  • determination of pharmacological bioequivalence of generics to original drugs;
  • conducting pharmacokinetic studies of drugs;
  • training in the field of clinical research.

The center will provide paid services, attract funds from international financial institutions, foreign organizations and donor countries.
