Abdukakhar Tukhtaev has been appointed as mayor of Tashkent’s Olmazor district. Previous mayor Bakhodir Gaibnazarov was sacked following the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the district on April 21.
Before that, Abdukakhar Tukhtaev (born in 1956) served as mayor of Jizzakh city, in 2005-2011 he was the mayor of Tashkent.
In 1996-1999 he was the mayor of Tashkent’s Shaykhantahur district, in 1999-2001 - Tashkent deputy mayor for construction, in 2001-2005 – the first deputy mayor. In 2013-2016 he worked as deputy chief of UzLITIneftgas, a design institute under UzbekNefteGaz.
