A Lockheed C-130H Hercules military aircraft of the Polish Air Force delivered 50 people from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan on August 18, PAP reported, citing Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz.
Among the evacuees is a Polish citizen, and the rest are people who worked for the Polish government institutions in Afghanistan during the military and diplomatic mission.
Before the evacuation, the Minister Przydacz contacted the Uzbekistan Deputy Foreign Minister, Gairat Fozilov, with a request to assist in the evacuation of citizens.
On the eve, the civilian plane Boeing 787 of the Polish LOT airline took evacuated citizens from Navoi airport to Poland. The Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the next transport will pick up the remaining people from Kabul. According to him, Poland wants to help the EU and NATO in the evacuation of refugees.
