Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Foreign Minister said on his Telegram channel.
“Glad to have had a comprehensive exchange with the U.S. Secretary of State H.E. Marco Rubio. We discussed not only the bilateral agenda, but also the most acute issues on the global stage.
Underscored that the recently established Board of Peace is emerging as an effective platform for promoting stability and prosperity in war-torn regions, offering renewed hope to millions of people for a more secure and dignified future.
We also reaffirmed our shared commitment to continued cooperation to address common challenges, strengthen international security, and advance sustainable development”, he said.
As seen in one of the photos from the meeting on the Minister's Instagram channel, the Uzbek Foreign Minister showed the US Secretary of State an album titled "Uzbekistan Quarter in Gaza."
This suggests that, as part of its efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip, Uzbekistan intends to finance and erect a quarter in the area damaged by the military conflict. No official announcement has yet been made regarding the album's presentation.
Earlier, a residential complex built by Uzbekistan recently opened in Turkey's Hatay Province, the province hardest hit by the devastating 2023 earthquake.
