The Press Service of the Border Troops of the State Security Service (PS SSS) commented on reports of a conflict on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border between Uzbeks and Kyrgyzs.
The incident occurred on May 31 at the Chashma spring between residents of the Sokh district of the Ferghana province of Uzbekistan and the Kadamzhai district of the Batken province of Kyrgyzstan.

“Currently, the situation is under control. Appropriate measures are being taken to eliminate the causes and consequences of the conflict,” the statement said.
The videos distributed in social networks and the media show the residents throwing stones at each other, with buildings set on fire.

Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and acting head of the Kyrgyz government Kubatbek Boronov today met to resolve the incident on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting they discussed "a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation."
The parties agreed to develop cross-border cooperation and resolve issues arising at the border in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, as well as in accordance with the provisions of the agreement between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on confidence-building measures in the border area, signed on October 6, 2017.
The heads of government also agreed to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and the Council of governors of the border provinces of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the border regions in the near future.
In addition, the heads of delegations of the two countries held a joint meeting with the local population, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
