Young potential leaders aged from 20 to 29 will for 10 days occupy the posts of mayors of Andijan province cities and districts, as well as deputy governors of the provincial administration, the Andijan’s governor, Shukhrat Abdurakhmanov announced at Jan 27 local government meeting, the governor’s office said.

The meeting discussed the tasks voiced in the presidential address to the parliament, in particular, the nurturing future leaders. Within the framework of the Youth’s Ten Day in Andijan project, young people will be appointed to leadership positions for 10 days.

In addition, young people with leadership qualities will be assigned to deputies of the district, city and regional councils.

In the future, it is planned to temporarily appoint talented youth to the posts of chairmen of mahallas, heads of enterprises, organizations, police departments and even as the acting governor of Andijan province, the statement added.
