Voter turnout in the elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and local councils on Sunday, was 71.1% according to provisional data, announced the chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov.
13,355,911 people out of 18,797, 810 registered voters voted in the country at 10,260 polling stations.
The highest turnout was in Karakalpakstan and Kashkadarya province - 75.4%, while the lowest - in Tashkent city - 60.8%.
Voting is currently ongoing at some polling stations in Europe and the United States. A total of 55 polling stations were opened abroad for the registered 1,697,647 voters.
A vote count is currently underway. Provisional results of the election to the Legislative Chamber will be announced on December 23 at 14:00.
The turnout in the 2019 election is the lowest in Uzbekistan’s modern history.
