A government resolution has approved Uzbekistan’s Biological Diversity Conservation Strategy for 2019-2028, the Ministry of Justice said.

The strategy provides for expanding the area of ​​protected natural territories up to 12% of the Uzbekistan’s territory, as well as forestation of the dried bottom of the Aral Sea, elevating the forest area to 1.2 million hectares.

The document also provides for bringing the population of gazelles in the Jeyran specialized farm in Bukhara to 1000 gazelles.
