Video footages circulating on social media have shown bus drivers voicing complaints about delayed monthly wages and unclear payment procedures. Toshshahartranshizmat, the city's public bus operator, responded to the situation, saying it would form a special working group to look into the complaints.
According to the company, drivers at its eight bus depots have their wages calculated only after the working month has ended.
From the 1st to the 10th of the following month, the company reviews each driver's hours worked over the course of the month, along with the number and regularity of trips completed.
After that, any traffic violations a driver committed while on route during the month are also reviewed. Once all the data has been compiled, the exact wage calculation is finalized starting on the 10th of the following month, after which drivers begin receiving their pay.
Toshshahartranshizmat said wages for August had begun being paid out to all drivers starting September 15.
To investigate the complaints raised in the videos, the company has formed a special working group made up of responsible staff. Drivers' grievances will be reviewed individually, and where shortcomings are found, those responsible will face measures under established procedures.
Additional information will be provided based on the results of the review, the company said.
