Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Dilshod Akhatov met with the Polish Under Secretary for Security Policy, Minister Bartosz Cichocki, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The parties discussed the state and the ways to advance Uzbek–Polish bilateral ties, as well as in the Uzbekistan – EU format and confirmed their mutual interest in stepping up the political dialogue, building up trade-economic cooperation, solving transport-communication and other issues.

Bartosz Cichocki commended the reform efforts in Uzbekistan, enhanced regional cooperation and expressed support for constructive policy towards Afghanistan.

He spoke in favor of continuing consultations between relevant agencies of the two countries for attracting labour from Uzbekistan to the Polish labor market.

The parties also exchanged views on the ways of promoting tourism.

Dilshod Akhatov also met with Anna Maria Dyner, Eastern Europe Programme Coordinator at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, with whom he discussed the ways to develop bilateral cooperation, including between Uzbek and Polish think-tanks.
