President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter of condolences to the Acting President of South Korea Choi Sang-mok over the multiple casualties following the plane crash in Muan city.

According to the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov, the head of state expressed words of sincere sympathy and support to the people of Korea, the families and friends of the victims, and also wished a swift recovery to the injured.

On Sunday morning, a Boeing 737-8AS of Jeju Air, flying from Bangkok, skidded off a runway at a South Korean airport Sunday, slammed into a concrete fence and burst into flames after its front landing gear apparently failed to deploy. All but two of the 181 people on board died in one of the country's worst aviation disasters. The causes are being investigated.
