Shukhrat Mamarasulov’s story is one of ambition, resilience, and a deep-seated love for the hospitality industry. Expanding to own a chain of hotels is no small feat. That’s particularly true today.

His passion for hospitality stemmed from childhood dreams. But it all started to take shape in 2008, when he moved to London to deepen his knowledge of business management. Studying in one of the world's most vibrant cities helped him develop skills in strategic thinking, market analysis and managing large projects. Once in the UK, he had the gratifying experience of seeing back of house of the high-tier globally renowned hotels in London, which according to him was one of the most amazing experiences in his life.

The Uzbekistan hotel industry has been booming in the last 8 years undergoing tectonic changes, with the number of inflowing foreign tourists quadrupling over this period. But along with opportunities this has brought many challenges, such as rising guest expectations, pressure to work cost-efficiently and growing competition.

Returning to Uzbekistan in 2010, Shukhrat Mamarasulov founded his first hotel – Uzbegim Plaza in Samarkand city, which successfully blended the Uzbek traditions and modern service standards. Thanks to the unique approach to hospitality and comfort, the hotel swiftly became popular among tourists.

Continuing to develop his business, Shukhrat Mamarasulov has become a key figure in the opening of Grand Sohil Hotel, a first-class hotel in Tashkent featuring modern amenities and tasteful décor, where guest feel more like at home.

Inspired by the beauty of Uzbekistan’s nature, Shukhrat Mamarasulov created an eco-tourism camp in Urgut district, a unique phenomenon in the Uzbek tourism industry. The camp was designed to keep the natural balance and support local communities. Here, guests can enjoy solitude in the bosom of nature, attend craftsmanship master classes and get to know the region’s cultural heritage. This camp has become an important link in the popularization of ecotourism in Uzbekistan.
