Members of a criminal group involved in the manufacture and sale of synthetic drugs in Fergana and Andijan provinces have been handed prison sentences, Aziz Obidov, the spokesman to the Supreme Court said.
Reportedly, law enforcement agencies conducted a swift operation in Kuvasoy city, Fergana province.
During the operation, the previously been convicted 49-year-old man, I.I., was detained red-handedly while receiving 321 grams of 5F-APINACA synthetic drug hidden in a gas stove and sent from Russia by a member of an organized criminal group involved in the sale of drugs via Telegram.
In a follow-up to the operation, a resident of Markhamat district of Andijan province, J.S., who came to receive the drugs that I.I. had left in a secret place, was also detained.
Pre-investigation probe found that J.S., on the instructions of a member of the organized criminal group, rented apartment in Andijan city where he set up a drug laboratory.
In addition, 4 kg 372 grams of a-PVP synthetic drug hidden by J.S. in a secret place in the Markhamat district were also seized.
A criminal case has been opened against them and investigative actions complete.
It is noted that the Tashloq District Criminal Court found these individuals guilty of committing crimes stipulated by the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and sentenced I.I. to 13 years and 6 months and J.S. to 15 years in prison.
