According to Uzbek Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov, Tashkent will host the second consultative meeting of the Central Asian leaders in the spring of 2019.
“The primary goal of this meeting is to elevate the ties between the Central Asian countries to a qualitatively new level,” he said.
The meeting will be preceded by a conference entitled “Interconnectivity in Central Asia: Challenges and New Opportunities”, with experts from all the countries in the region expected to attend.
Komil Rashidov also highlighted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are planning to launch the Silk Visa, the Central Asian “Schengen” in February 2019.
“Kyrgyzstan is firmly determined to join the Central Asian analogue of the EU Schengen visa. We are confident that this move will be a game-chager and will help increase the tourists inflow to our region,” he stated.
He added that the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation at the level of prime ministers will also be held this year in Tashkent.
“The parties have started the implementation of the Road Map, signed by the Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on December 18, 2018,” he concluded.
